Lactation by Tamir
My lactation practice is centered on providing compassionate, nonjudgmental support to mothers on their infant feeding journeys. I focus on empowering parents with evidence-based guidance, emotional reassurance, and personalized care, recognizing that each mom's path is unique. Whether navigating breastfeeding challenges, supplementing, or weaning, my goal is to meet parents where they are and help them feel confident, informed, and supported every step of the way.
I am an internationally board certified lactation consultant for the past 8 years and a mother-baby nurse for over 12 years. I have experience working in both the United States and Israel. I spent many years working in the hospital setting both as a registered nurse and later as a lactation consultant helping moms on postpartum units. For the past few years, I have been working with mothers and their babies through my private practice. When I'm not helping moms and babies, I am home with my husband, Doni and 4 beautiful kids; Amitsur, Yael, Amalya, and Netanel. I had vastly different breastfeeding experiences with all of them (currently nursing Netanel now :-)) and I bring that experience with me to each of my consults as well. <3
My breastfeeding journey began with an unexpected cesarean birth after a long labor that shifted everything I had planned. Recovery was harder than I anticipated, both physically and emotionally. Despite my strong desire to breastfeed, I struggled with low milk supply, in spite of doing everything "right", which brought feelings of frustration and guilt. That experience changed everything. I realized how deeply parents need real, nonjudgmental support—someone to listen, to validate their experience, and to walk alongside them without pressure or shame. That’s why I became a lactation consultant. Now, I bring not just clinical training, but lived experience to my practice. I understand what it feels like to struggle, to doubt yourself, and to need a safe space to ask questions. My goal is to offer families the kind of support I wish I had: kind, flexible, evidence-based care that meets you where you are and honors your goals—whatever they may be.
What sets my lactation practice apart is a deeply personalized and judgment-free approach. I prioritize building trust and emotional connection, understanding that feeding a baby is not just a physical task but an emotional journey. I work collaboratively with families—respecting their goals, cultural values, and lived experiences—offering flexible support that adapts to their changing needs. I also emphasize continuity of care, being available beyond just one appointment, so families never feel alone. My role is not to dictate a "right" way, but to support your way with kindness, evidence, and unwavering presence.
