Tamar Zakon, Dipl.CM (IACM), CMT – Doula, Acupuncturist & Integrative Women’s Health Practitioner I am a licensed practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine, certified massage therapist, clinical herbalist, and doula with nearly two decades of experience in holistic health. My specialty lies in women’s health, fertility, and emotional healing, and I provide full-spectrum support throughout the reproductive journey—from preconception to postpartum and beyond. My integrative approach combines acupuncture, Chinese and Western herbal medicine, medical massage, Sobada abdominal and womb therapy, and more. I work holistically to support hormonal balance, digestive health, pain relief, trauma recovery, and overall vitality. Each treatment plan is customized, addressing the physical, emotional, and energetic needs of the individual. I have extensive experience supporting women who are navigating fertility challenges, pregnancy after loss, birth trauma, and complex emotional or medical histories. I offer a safe, grounded, and compassionate space for healing—bridging complementary therapies with a strong understanding of conventional medicine to help clients feel empowered and informed throughout medical testing, procedures, and treatments. As the founder and clinical director of the Balance Center – Acupuncture & Integrative Wellness in Jerusalem, I’ve created a warm, collaborative space where women and families receive comprehensive, personalized care from a team of integrative practitioners. My work is rooted in the belief that healing is not one-size-fits-all—and that every person deserves to feel seen, supported, and guided on their path to wellness.

I have three children and have been a nanny since returning to work. I am divorced and have time when the kids are at their dad's to provide overnight care.

I am an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant since 2022 with over a decade of experience supporting mothers and babies. I am the co-creator of Body-Led Breastfeeding, a methodology that sees infant body language patterns as the key to breastfeeding success. I specialize in helping babies with persistent oral function challenges and those who struggle with bottle feeding. I also host the Growing Happy Babies birth workers podcast which helps Anglo-Israeli parents get to know their birth helpers before deciding which ones they want to hire, hosted at growinghappybabies.com/directory. I also co-host the Body-Led Breastfeeding podcast for lactation professionals as well as the monthly literature review podcast from the Journal of Human Lactation.
